Theodolite Replica Solid Brass
The term theodolite (corner viewer), first used in 1824, comes from the modern Latin theodelitus, formed in the 16th century by Leonard or his son Thomas Digges, English mathematicians and astronomers.
With a theodolite one can measure horizontal and vertical angles with high accuracy. In essence, this device is nothing more than a telescope that rotates around two axes: a vertical axis, also called the first axis, and a horizontal axis, also called the second axis.
