The Three Musketeers Bronzed Statue
The Three Musketeers is a novel written by French author Alexandre Dumas. Dumas drew inspiration from existing stories, mostly true stories, which were bundled in a book kept in the library of Marseille. This book described the exploits of several legendary musketeers of the 17th century.
The novel is set around 1627, during the time of Cardinal Richelieu and King Louis XIII. The three musketeers (a kind of honour guard for the French king in the 17th century) are Aramis, Athos and Porthos. Although they are known as the three musketeers, their adventures take place with four people. In fact, the fourth musketeer is probably the most famous: D'Artagnan.
Their famous motto was: "One for all and all for one".
