Mario Bros Donkey Kong plush toy 30cm
Donkey Kong was designed by video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. He thought that donkey in English meant "crazy" and assumed that the name Donkey Kong would therefore come across to the American public as "stupid monkey". When he proposed this name to Nintendo, he was laughed at, but the name remained. The credibility of this story, as well as others, is often questioned.
