Demeter (Ancient Greek: Δημήτηρ, Dêmếtêr) is a figure from Greek mythology. She was the daughter of Kronos and Rhea[1] and thus a sister of Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera and Hestia. Demeter was the goddess of agriculture and crops (primarily grain). She is often depicted holding an ear of corn. The Roman equivalent of Demeter is Ceres.
